Across the year groups and subject areas, we have an extensive and growing programme of enrichment and after-school opportunities which focus on gifted and talented students. For instance the History and Geography departments arrange visits (including residentials) to Blencathra Field Studies Centre, Malham Tarn and the Durham Light Infantry Museum.
St. Hild's is involved in an Art Summer School, an annual Forensic Science event and the nationwide Mathematics Challenge.
In Year 7, GAT students can participate in a cultural and languages visit to France's Opal Coast.
In Years 8 and 9 students have opportunities to visit and tour the Universities of Durham and Newcastle-upon-Tyne, be involved in a Murder Mystery event and help organise a Senior Citizens' Christmas Party within the community.
St. Hild's is committed to seeing ALL of our young people move forward and progress - to this end we also have Krypton Factor activity days, where all students in a particular year group engage in a carousel of creative, logical thinking, communication and initiative challenges.
Such programmes boost the progress and skills of all our students as well as stretch and inspire our more able.
